Dena Olyaie is a business-minded builder working at the intersection of consumer technology and contemporary culture. With her most recent post leading the Elections Integrity Product Marketing Team at Facebook, Dena helped to shape the company’s global perspective on the role of social media in the democratic process. Her work focused on empowering civic engagement, developing product go-to-market strategies to mitigate integrity risks, and crafting the company narrative on their work in the space. Prior to Facebook Dena led Marketing and Growth Operations at Oscar Health—a venture-backed, tech-enabled health insurance company born out of the promise of the Affordable Care Act.
Before joining the private sector Dena worked at the US Department of Health and Human Services/Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services during the Obama administration, helping to implement the Affordable Care Act and developing its HealthCare.gov enrollment marketing strategy.
Dena holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from the University of California, San Diego, a Master’s Degree in Public Health from George Washington University, and has served as a health policy fellow in the office of US Senator Bernie Sanders. Dena thinks her greatest accomplishment is owning a cat that actually likes her.
